All Levels Classes
Classes are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.Students hold each pose for a longer amount of time and props such as straps, blankets, wooden blocks are often used in classes. Modifications are provided so all levels of practitioners can participate in class.Classes are kept small to ensure proper alignment and provide individual instruction.
Open Practice Sessions
EYS offers an Open Practice time on Wednesday evenings, prior to class from 5:15-6:15pm. Students can use this hour to enhance their personal practice with the use of all props and wall space. This is a quiet time to reflect and delve deeper, no teaching will be conducted. You must explore your own practice. There is no cost for these sessions.
Beginner Series Classes
The beginner series focuses on basic postures to develop strength, stamina and flexibility.All levels of practitioners are welcome to attend.Classes are kept small to ensure proper alignment and provide individual instruction.
Specialized Private Sessions
These are private classes created for individuals with physical challenges.Specifically I work with individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Scoliosis, individuals living with and recovering from cancer, stability & balance sessions for amputees.
Scoliosis & Back Care Series
These are small classes with a focus on reducing pain and learning tools to bring balance to the spine.Props such as ropes, straps, walls, blocks, chairs and blankets will be used during these sessions. Writing notes is encouraged.
Restorative Yoga Private Session
Restorative yoga uses props to help support the body in yoga asanas.It is a soothing and nurturing practice promoting conscious relaxation.By supporting the body with props, we stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance.This creates physiological responses that are beneficial to health and can reduce the effects of stress-related disease.
Usui Reiki Sessions
Reiki Sessions are a relaxing, stress releasing experience.Reiki energy begins to release blocks caused by tension, anxiety, fear, or other negative thoughts and feelings.Some people drift off to sleep, or report floating outside of their bodies, and some see colors.At the end of the treatment, one feels relaxed and refreshed with a positive, more balanced outlook.
Yoga & Reiki Sessions
This is a 60 minute specialized class that incorporates both gentle asanas for stress/anxiety relief (30 minutes) and a Reiki session focusing on areas of pain or stress (30 minutes).
